چکیده

Extended logic programs and annotated logic programs are two important extensions of normal logic programs that allow for a more concise and declarative representation of knowledge. Extended logic programs add explicit negation to the default negation of normal programs in order to distinguish what can be shown to be false from what cannot be proven true. Annotated logic programs generalize the set of truth values over which a program is interpreted by explicitly annotating atoms with elements of a new domain of truth values. In this paper coherent well-founded annotated programs are deened, and shown to generalize both consistent and paraconsistent extended programs, along with several classes of annotated programs.

Inference with Logic Programs with Annotated Disjunctions under the Well Founded Semantics

Logic Programs with Annotated Disjunctions (LPADs) allow to express probabilistic information in logic programming. The semantics of an LPAD is given in terms of well founded models of the normal logic programs obtained by selecting one disjunct from each ground LPAD clause. The paper presents SLGAD resolution that computes the (conditional) probability of a ground query from an LPAD and is bas...

Inference on LPADs can be performed using either the system Ailog2, that was developed for the Independent Choice Log...

Towards a Systematic Account of Different Semantics for Logic Programs

In [14, 15], a new methodology has been proposed which allows to derive uniform characterizations of different declarative semantics for logic programs with negation. One result from this work is that the well-founded semantics can formally be understood as a stratified version of the Fitting (or Kripke-Kleene) semantics. The constructions leading to this result, however, show a certain asymmet...

Well-Founded Semantics for Default Logic

Default logic is one of the most popular approaches to model defeasible reasoning. Nevertheless, there are a number of problems with Reiter's original semantics that have led to the investigation of alternative approaches. In particular, Baral/Subrahmanian and Przymusinska/Przymusinski have investigated generalizations of well-founded semantics for normal logic programs to default logic. These ...
